Lisa Marie Shehu
With over seven years of experience working with adolescents and young adults in residential settings, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate challenges, build confidence, and create meaningful, lasting change. My clinical experience includes supporting individuals struggling with substance use, emotional challenges, and behavioral concerns.
I also enjoy working with young children, utilizing a play therapy approach to help children express themselves, process emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and navigate challenges in an age-appropriate and supportive way. I believe play can provide children with a natural and meaningful way to communicate and explore their experiences.
I believe each person has the ability to grow, heal, and work toward a greater sense of peace and serenity. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work toward their personal goals.
My approach is collaborative and individualized, drawing from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). I meet clients where they are while helping them identify their strengths, develop effective coping skills, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want to create.
My goal is to help each client recognize their potential, find their own path forward, and move toward greater balance, growth, and serenity.
